Cell phone providers are an unregulated business and free enterprise
rules. That is why I get 5 bars on T-Mobil, Verizon, at&t and Sprint
wile millions get no cell coverage at all.

Didn't the FCC originally set things up so that there were two cell
companies serving each area of the usa?

they will probably add the CDMA to the towers and eventually phase out the GSM stuff until everyone is on CDMA.

I found this list of all att and tmobile prepaid phones. I have 2/3 phones starting at $9.99. I personally got 2 just incase as a backup. have fun

There is another I-wireless company based in Cincinnati I think. Part of Cincinnati Bell/Southwestern Bell? Can't remember... They sell prepaids in Kroger stores.

Looks like they "roam" onto AT&T's GSM. Must be a
regional carrier for their "home" area as "home" is
only one city.
